Wayne Dyer & Immaculee Ilibagiza
At the Javits Center Tuesday night, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and Immaculee Ilibagiza, survivor of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. In a country the size of Rhode Island one million people were killed. Bill Clinton says our non-response was the biggest failure of his presidency. Wayne and Immaculee are raising funds for Rwandan orphans and the children of Africa.

Breaking Lenten Fast
A member of the church chorus generously invited us to her home where we experienced a Greek dinner to break Lenten fast. Margaritsa (top photo) is the traditional first dish. After dinner guests danced a folk dance, I think it was the Zeibekiko, as paper plates and napkins were thrown at their feet.

They were taken for a NY Times Long Island At Worship story, April 30, 2006, by Laurie Nadel, "Celebration and Rebirth Amid the Glow of a Midnight Service". Presiding over the service was Father Emmanuel J. Gratsias and Archbishop Dimitrios of Xanthos.
