Fire Island

Ocean Beach Ferry
Beach Front Homes
SkimmingI spent last Friday visiting Ocean Beach on Fire Island. The reporter, Allen Salkin (author of Festivus, The Holiday For The Rest Of Us), is doing a Summer share there. Spent the whole day, did some swimming between taking photos, and caught the 10:25 pm ferry back. If I didn't have an early assignment on Saturday I could have slept over. One of the sharers, Pia Catton, is a staff reporter for the NY Sun.

Behind the Maxwell House Coffee Sign

Behind The Coffee Sign
Blue Cornflake Morning This was a spectacular blue cornflake, 4th of July morning back in (I'm guessing) 96. My top floor apartment, across the street from the Maxwell House Coffee factory, could get Very hot. The roof was a good escape. Overnight it could actually feel cold if there was a good breeze blowing off of the Hudson River.
