1918 Cleveland Motorcycle

A nice recent assignment had me photographing Penny Nickerson and her 1918 Cleveland Motorcycle. Olive, Penny's motorcycle, was chosen to be a model for a recently issued U.S. Postage Stamp. The issue features four American classic motorcycles.

These are so cool! Did she let you ride one?

I would have loved it! Makes me think of the movie Back To The Future where the car is a time machine. I can picture riding on "Olive" and being transported back to 1918. Didn't happen though as Penny keeps the tank dry. Maybe I can barter some nice prints for a ride.

This woman is my former Social Studies teacher.
She was an amzing teacher, and is an amazing woman. I can listen to her talk for hours!!
I have pictures of my daughter on one of her antique bikes, not this one, though you can clearly see olive in the backround.
